We didn’t start watching Game of Thrones until season 3 or maybe 4 but I’m glad we did. Tonight is the final episode and I’m sad to see it end.
Dragonglass shakes and Drogon-flame-broiled burgers from Shake Shack for dinner:
…Before the Dawn for dessert:
I watched almost all 67 episodes all over again before season 8 started and one day I will start all over again with the kids. They’re interested now because they aren’t allowed to watch it but maybe they won’t care when they are allowed.
I did my 800th ride (and 801st) this morning. After 412 hours of riding I’ve generated 494 megajoules of energy. It’s been 33 days since my 750th.
Havana had 5 friends over for her birthday slumber party. After school they went to Paint the Town and then home for dinner (spaghetti and meatballs), cake and ice cream and a movie (Titanic). Hudson and Eva got out of the house to their friends’ houses for the night.
I thought they went to bed at a reasonable time but Gay woke up at 2am and found them all still awake and had to tell them to go to sleep.
In what I think was the best game for the Comets yet, Eva got a base hit and then stole 3 bases to score her first run of the season. As first baseman, she also got a runner out. The game actually finished 3 innings in 2 hours. I think that’s a sign the girls are getting better.
Since the game was at 6pm tonight, all of us went to the game and brought dinner from Bok a Bok. Havana’s friend, Mira, also happened to be at Garfield for her parent’s ultimate frisbee game so she watched Eva play too.
Hudson scored a touchdown in flag football. His team still lost by one point, though.
Today was the 6th and final performance of The Lion King. They had their cast party at Optimism – Mr Finney is a fan of the place and wanted to have it there. Gay organized it, brought in pizzas and cookies and Bubly water for the kids. 100+ people showed up and the cast sang a couple songs from the play. The show’s donations totaled more than $3,000 for the PTA too.
