Election day is coming near
You get to pick the one you fear
Mondale, Hart or Jessie J.
They won’t stick to what they say
Sorry Ron it’s time to go
Back to acting with Bonzo
Who you pick, it makes no matter
We eat their shit and they get fatter
He gets to live in the White House
With his dog, his cat and spouse
He’ll take chauffered limos
Go cruising through the ghettos
He’ll state his mind with double think
Because his ideas really stink
Election day is coming near
You get to pick the one you fear
Mondale, Hart or Jessie J.
They won’t stick to what they say
Sorry Ron it’s time to go
Back to acting with Bonzo!
I think your whole election process is a total waste of millions of dollars that could be used to fufill election promises JMHO Cheers
Don’t be such a cynic. How is it wasted? The money doesn’t disappear, it just changes hands and it employs lots of people. The Democratic process is ugly. Look at Iran, Russia, North Korea, etc and you’ll see quick, simple and inexpensive election processes, but that doesn’t make them good.
By the way, the lyrics are from a song called “Super Tuesday” by a punk band that I loved as a kid. Every time I hear “Super Tuesday” in the news during election years the song pops into my head – I was finally motivated to write the lyrics down. That song is almost 25 years old; the criticism of politicians hasn’t changed but the world is a far far better place than it was then. It’s a reminder to myself that all the fretting about politics and who is right and who is wrong doesn’t stop the world from getting better.
