The chart is screwy because it was written years ago and WordPress doesn't support that formatting.

I've never known Maker's Mark to NOT have screw tops. It's smart, they create the best seals. Unfortunately, Makers 46 has cork tops.

Why is the red wax infamous? Famous, yes, but infamous?!?

Troy,

I don't understand your charts as they are not reflective of the text of your tasting.

I prefer Maker's over the others, but I will indulge in Knob Creek on occasion. For the everyday, Jim Beam is just fine. The Maker's is more for events, like the weekend or Vermont trip, or Florida jaunt, or Mrytle Beach golf weekend.

A troubling development that I recently heard, but have yet to verify. Maker's is going to SCREW CAPS under their infamous red wax. Can you confirm? You might need to buy several bottles, but it is deductible as a necessary business expense.

This was hilarious. I applaud you my friend. We are wiring an entire facility and the project manager is insisting that an electrician can do the low voltage (cat 6) wiring for voice and data for $1000 per run. I told the project manager where he could shove his estimate. I can hire almost any telecom or networking company to run cabling below $250 per run.

They're trying to tell me that this is this going rate for bonafied union labor. Yeah, so the union mobsters can supplement their topless bar in Long Island.

You are right, it is a total scam in the industry.

Hey, I'm an entrepreneur looking for some advice. My husband (a UI designer) and his friend (a wicked-smart programmer) and I were hoping to make a site similar to recipezaar, but geared toward the food allergy community. I didn't know of another way to contact you, but I would be interested in your input.

Yeah, wasn't the reason for lowering the national speed limit to 55 to conserve gas? How soon we forget.

Sorry to hear about your wife. RIP Mrs. Philocrates.

You forgot the guy who breezed past me on the four lane at about 85 mph. I was doing the limit and he walked away as if I was sitting still. If you are hurting, stop speeding. It eats gas. If I remember something like going 65 vs 55 is around the same as paying 16 cents more per gallon. They can't be hurting that bad if they can fly in a car.

btw my wife died this year.

By the way, the lyrics are from a song called "Super Tuesday" by a punk band that I loved as a kid. Every time I hear "Super Tuesday" in the news during election years the song pops into my head – I was finally motivated to write the lyrics down. That song is almost 25 years old; the criticism of politicians hasn't changed but the world is a far far better place than it was then. It's a reminder to myself that all the fretting about politics and who is right and who is wrong doesn't stop the world from getting better.

Don't be such a cynic. How is it wasted? The money doesn't disappear, it just changes hands and it employs lots of people. The Democratic process is ugly. Look at Iran, Russia, North Korea, etc and you'll see quick, simple and inexpensive election processes, but that doesn't make them good.
